Colombia Aponte Honey Coffee - Microlot

Coffee
Information

A zesty, complex and refreshing coffee.

Our newest Colombian micro-lot marks a nice contrast to those previously, this coffee is honey processed, so it's a real mix of fruity and smooth flavours.

This  coffee boasts a zesty lemon acidity. This is complimented by notes of sweet raisin and caramel, all of which are balanced perfectly making this coffee a real easy drinker!

This coffee is fantastic through filter due to its bright flavours & it will make for an espresso with a punch, worth a try!

Happy brewing!

The Story

This micro-lot has been sourced through speciality green coffee importers, Cofinet.

Produced by smallholders in rural areas in Aponte, Nariño. Most of the coffee growers they work with belong to an indigenous reserve called Aponte. They work with approximately 200 coffee growers from different associations across this region.

Coffee farmers who are part of this Regional Plus program started creating Honey processed coffees in 2018.

This microlot is100% Caturra. This variety originated in Minas Gerais, Brazil. It is a natural mutation of Red Bourbon. Caturra produces more coffee and is more resistant to plant diseases than Bourbon.
