This well balanced cup opens with excellent acidity that pairs perfectly with the velvety smooth chocolate body. An elegant and pleasant lingering sweet caramel aftertaste leads this beautiful coffee to a delicious finish.

Facts

In the majestic Andes mountains that surround the town of Montebello in Antioquia a beautiful farm named Sabanitas is cared for by Jesus Gaviria, who prides himself in producing coffee with excellence and in perfect harmony with the environment.

The high altitude of his farm, rich soils of volcanic origin, pristine waters that he carefully protects and his strong belief for preserving old style wet processing techniques passed on by three generations of farmers are the key to producing a beautiful coffee.

Facts

Colombia is the second largest producer of coffee in the world and the largest producer of washed and Arabica coffee. There are three primary varieties grown in Colombia and the coffee is referred to by the region in which it is grown. Colombia is proficient in producing an abundance of truly delicious and sought after coffee.

This coffee comes from the small town of Pitalito, which lies in southern Huila in the Valley of Laboyos. This southern area of Colombia is at the foot of the Andes mountains. This massive mountain range is the birthplace of the Magdalena River, which travels north all the way to the Caribbean coast.

The valley itself lies at about 1,300 meters above sea level. All the surrounding mountains grow coffee with the average farm having about 6 hectares and about 5,000 trees per hectare. The soil is volcanic, providing lots of organic nutrients for this high altitude coffee.
