The Ninth Blend

April 2014 saw YCE fly the coop and head south for The London Coffee Festival. The festival is a celebration of the fantastic and bustling coffee scene in the UK. With us we took a new fusion of coffee cyder and three blends NEW to YCE.

The Ninth was one of three new blends we were excited to reveal at the festival. All three now stand prominent in the online store and are just waiting to be tasted!

Named after Julius Caesar's Ninth Legion that built the first Roman Fort in Eboracum (York) this blend embodies what we are about at York Coffee Emporium: Medium roasted, The Ninth is an organic blend that's like a big hug in a cup.

THE NINTH COFFEE BLEND IS MADE FROM THREE FANTASTIC COFFEES:

fort Brazil Fazenda Nossa Senhora Fatima de Cerrado - A quite superb and unique organic Brazilian coffee being processed in the 'pulped natural' way. Sweet and complex expect cocoa and plum/berry notes.

Ethiopian Kaffa Forest Estate RFA - An amazingly complex coffee grown on a family-owned estate in the highlands of the Kaffa region. There’s lovely floral notes, delicious juicy apricot, forest honey and tongue hugging caramel.

Sumatran Gegartang Village Cooperative Fairtrade - This Gegarang is deep and full bodied with a tangerine sweetness layered with heavy chocolate.

Flavour Profile

Bright sweetness, dark chocolate richness and a tangerine/honey finish.
