New Christmas Coffee Blend from York Coffee Emporium

We've created a delicious new blend this year to capture the essence of Christmas. Delightfully deep, dark and smooth this new blend is perfect for the cold, dark evenings with its chocolate and seasonal fruit notes.

The Emporium Christmas Blend is made from three exceptional coffees:

Elk Hill Indian Estate coffee UTZ & RFA Certified

The Elk Hill Coffee Estate is located in the Coorg hills in the southwest of Karnataka state in the south of India. The farm is located in the misty, rolling hills where many lush forests thrive.

Elk Hill's fine coffee is truly a product of the forest, growing as it does under a thick canopy of rosewood, sandalwood and white cedar. Pepper vines cohabit amongst these noble trees providing another valuable crop. Elk Hill is buzzing with wildlife, from an impressive variety of birds to wild elephants, which frequently pass through the farm.

When tasting you find chocolate, nuttiness, cedar wood and hints of pepper.

Mexican Finca Muxbal RFA Certified

In the local Mame dialect Muxbal means 'place surrounded by clouds', and was the name chosen for a most unique coffee farm. It stands proudly on the slopes of the active Tacana volcano.

The farm is managed by mother and son team Maeggi Rodriguez and Jorge Gallardo. It was purchased in 1959 by Maeggi’s father, Don Enrique, a man who was very much a pioneer of his time. He introduced three key principles that remain as important today as they were then: social responsibility, environmental sustainability and the production of very high quality coffee.

When tasting you find great complexity - peach, citrus fruits and honey.

Rwandan Fully Washed - AA - "Inzovu"

Rwanda is blessed with ideal coffee growing conditions that include high altitude, regular rainfall, volcanic soils with good organic structure and an abundance of Bourbon. The vast majority of Rwandan coffee is produced by smallholders of which there are thought to be around half a million with parcels of land often not much larger than just one hectare per family. Coffee is grown in most parts of the country, with particularly large concentrations along Lake Kivu and in the southern province.

This coffee comes from a Rwandan exporter whom recently participated in the Cup of Excellence taking 4 of the top 10 positions including numbers 1 and 2! This coffee was picked from those same very estates.

When tasting you find the coffee sweet and clean, with bright citrus peel acidity, some floral notes and a little warming allspice.

The combination is superb and we are sure you'll love it. The Emporium Christmas Blend is priced at £4.50 for 200g.
